Yesterday morning mom went through her second surgery since the discovery of cancer in her body. A number of lymph nodes were removed from her right side which are to be examined, and we are expected to know by Tuesday if any of the nodes were found to have cancer. Getting the results from this surgery will help to determine the most prudent route to take for treatment. The surgery took just over an hour and, as we finished the catalogue at about 4 a.m. the night before, I was given Friday of unexpectedly and was able to surprise mom and show up at the hospital just after she woke up. Although the surgery wasn’t quite as major as the previous one, she was in more pain after waking up, not having the benefit of the marcaine-filled “Pain Balls” constantly sending anesthetic to the surgical site. Last night she was rather sick, perhaps due to the pain medicine, but feels significantly better this morning so far. Thank you for all who have prayed and continue to pray for her!
