This afternoon, we had the privilege of driving up to Austin to meet the newborn baby of my cousin Julie and her husband David. Born just last night between ten and eleven o’clock, she had the face of a doll and was just about as cute as you could hope a baby to be. During our visit, she slept nearly the entire time, only opening her eyes for a few seconds at a time to see a line of faces making a big fuss over her. Praise the Lord for new life and congratulations to David and Julie!
Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man, so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate. —from Psalm 127
