Makes 3-4 loaves
Ingredients
4 cups warm water
1 Tbsp active dry yeast
Dash of white granulated sugar
1 Tbsp salt
1/3 cup olive oil
1/3 cup honey or sugar
1 cup room-temp or slightly warm water
1 bag of King Arthur Gluten Free Bread Flour, plus a little King Arthur Gluten Free All-purpose Flour as needed
Instructions
- Mix first 3 ingredients in mixer bowl and let foam for 10 minutes covered.
- After 10 minutes, add salt, oil, honey/sugar, cup of water, and 4 cups of flour. Mix well, then add remaining flour (ONE CUP AT A TIME) until dough cleans the sides of the bowl. Rest for 20 minutes.
- After rest, knead in mixer for 3-5 minutes.
- Generously grease 3-4 loaf pans and set aside. (3 pans will be very full, 4 will be small, but still whole loaves)
- Dough will be more like batter at this point. Divide batter into 3-4 equal portions, place into prepared loaf pans, and smooth top with a wet spatula. Let rise 30-45 minutes in oven.
- Leaving loaves in the oven, preheat oven to 350º, and start the timer for 35 minutes. Once baked, remove from oven, and rub the top with butter while still hot to give soft crusts. Allow to cool completely before slicing.
