Makes 4 pints
Ingredients
5 1/2 lbs apples, peeled, cored, sliced
4 cups sugar (or much less)
2-3 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Fill crockpot with apples. Combine other ingredients, pour over apples and stir to coat. Cover and cook on HIGH for 1 hour.
- Reduce heat to low, cover and cook for 9-11 hours or until thickened and dark brown, stirring occasionally. Uncover and cook 1 hour on low. Stir until smooth.
